ELIRA DAHN’S DOCKHOUSE

Overview

  • Location: Industrial Ring, Arla Town
  • Address: NW Industrial Ring Road 7
  • Surroundings: Located in Arla Town's “Fishermen's Quarter”, adjacent to the banks of Lake Arla and nearby the Funkenberg Fishfactory.

Elira Dahn, one of the youngest fishers, specialized in lantern fishing — using bright, QFB-powered lamps in the perpetual twilight of Lake Arla to draw shoals toward surface nets. This method was unusual, as most fishermen relied on simpler techniques, but Elira’s innovation often gave her larger catches. Her fish were distributed through the Arla Town Market and in bulk to the Funkenberg Fishfactory. All gear repairs were carried out via the cooperative Tiller & Net Fishing Supplies.

The dockhouse was destroyed during the Great War, when the Alliance of Native Tribes raided and burned Arla Town as a whole.

Look and Feel

The dockhouse glowed with a strange brilliance in the Habitual Belt’s twilight. QFB-powered lamps pulsed with a steady white-blue light, their reflections dancing across the lake’s dark waters. The faint hum of the batteries gave the space an uncanny technological edge compared to the rustic workshops around it. Nets shimmered in the artificial glow, marking Elira’s dock as a beacon of innovation along the shoreline.

Public Access, Operating Hours & Operational Rhythm

  • Operating Hours: 05:00 – 18:00 (active during calm-water periods)
  • Delivery Rhythm: Catches sent directly to Market or Fishfactory intake
  • Community Role: Seen as an innovator, though some fishers distrusted her reliance on scarce QFB technology

Player Interactions

  • Charter Elira’s lantern-boat for a survey of Lake Arla
  • Consult her on unusual QFB-powered lighting setups
  • Arrange deliveries through Market/Factory channels

Illegal

  • Steal or sabotage her QFB units
  • Use her lanterns as covert signal beacons for smuggling
  • Divert part of a lantern-lured catch before it reaches tally

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters

Elira stands out as the “innovator” of the Quarter, with her reliance on scarce Quantum Fusion Batteries making her both admired and resented. PCs may be drawn into disputes over access to her tech, or find themselves protecting her dockhouse from rivals seeking to cripple her advantage.

Adventure Hook Example

  • The Dimmed Lanterns – Elira’s QFB units vanish just before a major catch. PCs must determine whether it’s sabotage by rivals, theft for black-market tech, or a Cartel attempt to monopolize Arla’s fishing methods.
