ROGAN SOKOLOV

Race and Faction

Background

Rogan Sokolov was born aboard the Last Frontier. He joined the Guarding Troopers as an apprentice, showing strong physical ability and an unshakable sense of fairness. However, after the crash — later known as Day Zero — his poor eyesight disqualified him from active service, a rejection that left a lasting scar on his pride.

Following the founding of the Free State of Settlers, the Sokolov family settled in Morningstar, where his father and younger brother found work at the Fogwood Sawmill Inc.. Rogan sought independence, first taking jobs as a caravan guard for the New Kourou Courier Service along the Trade Route and later working in Firetown as a freelance bouncer in the Entertainment District. His size and quiet discipline earned him steady employment at venues such as the Saloon Gloria, where he became known for defusing violence before it started.

It was during one of these nights that Ezrah Scherkenstein noticed his composure. After watching him escort a drunken Guarding Trooper and an OfSO courier out of a dispute without throwing a single punch, she offered him part-time work as a retrieval and protection operative. Rogan has since accepted assignments from the Office for Special Operations (OfSO) —usually when his moral compass or “sense of fairness” demands it.

He is a man who avoids adventure unless convinced it serves justice. Once persuaded, however, his loyalty is immovable.

Motivations and Goals

Keep people safe, keep exits clear, bring everyone home. Long term, Rogan wants to hike and chart the hazardous western cuts of the Ralar Region — not for fame, but to mark safe paths for others.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters

Use Rogan to turn hazard scenes into solvable problems: lifting gates, bracing collapses, and body-blocking ambushes. Reward his cart-first travel with steadier supply lines and fewer animal mishaps, while letting fast-mount missions create social friction. Lean on Bouncer’s Rolodex to open rumor doors in Firetown, and on Human Shield to protect fragile PCs during negotiations.
