LOCAL COMMUNITY CENTER – HOPE
Overview
- Location: Hope
- Address: Seedway 1
- Surroundings: Situated adjacent to the Hope Guarding Trooper Station
From late 2625 through 2631, the Local Community Center in Hope served as the administrative heart, public assembly hall, and referendum venue of the exohuman settlement. It housed the elected Contact Person’s office, civil records vaults, and a two-week balloting chamber for community referenda. In its fortified basement lays the Hope Local GAIA Hub, a Tier-B “mini-GAIA” node providing local data governance, crisis simulation, and permit services.
After the Peace Treaty and the founding of the Federal Confederation in 2632, it was formally rebranded as the Mayor’s Office of Hope.

Look and Feel
Perpetual twilight filters through high windows — salvaged from the Last Frontier’s canopy — into a cool, orderly foyer faintly scented of fresh parchment and filtered air. A low hum from the GAIA vent stack resonates beneath timber-paneled walls. In the assembly hall, soft shafts of dusk light fall across polished benches while two rugged, energy-sparing holo-kiosks — monochrome lightfields only — glow faintly beside the dais, their terminals attended by a few citizens waiting in quiet line. Clerks quietly shuffle paper as citizens line up at the ballot booths. Outside, Guarding Bots patrol in steady loops across the plinth-stone plaza, their soft servo-whirrs the only hint of security standing watch over Hope’s civic heart.

- Tamper with holo-kiosk software to skew referendum results
- Bribe or threaten the GAIA Operator to insert hidden directives into crisis models
- Forge council minutes or GAIA logs to falsify policy ratifications
Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
- Rogue on the Run – A notorious murderer, recently escaped from the Guarding Troopers Headquarters in New Kourou, arrives at Hope’s Community Center under a false identity to register as a new citizen. The vigilant clerk, having been briefed on the fugitive’s profile, attempts to summon a Guarding Bot in secret — but the murderer spots the call and grabs the clerk hostage. Mounting a stolen Hoo, he gallops into the surrounding farmlands. The PCs are hired to track the fugitive through furrowed fields, negotiate the clerk’s release, and bring the criminal to justice before he vanishes into the Tropical Forest.
