BOLTON, DECKER

Decker Bolton (*2600 on the spaceship Last Frontier) is an ExoHuman of the so called fourth generation and a politician from the Individualist Party and the first Individualist Mayor of Hope.

Decker Bolton is considered a key ally and supporter of top politician Jamal "JaJo" Johanson.

Political career

After the landing of the Last Frontier on the planet VOI 700 D, Decker Bolton pledged to become a farmer for at least ten years (and to produce food for the society against payment) received 65 hectares of land in the Habitual Belt as property - based on the Human Settlement Plan. Due to the surrender of the ExoHumans in the Great War against the Native Tribes and the subsequent peace treaty, Decker Bolton lost his 65 acres of land again because it was not within the boundaries of one the four designated reservations.

As part of the implementation of the Communardism economic system (following the formation of the Federal Confederacy after the war), Decker Bolton was ordered to the Hope Reservation by GAIA as a farm laborer. His old farm, on the other hand, was dismantled and recycled. From 2632 to 2638, Decker Bolton then worked on one of the large farms as a grain crop specialist.

In 2634, he joined the Individualist Party, and in 2636, as a campaign worker in Hope, he helped run the Individualists' most successful campaign to date for the Federal Council-election This is because top candidate Yon Wong - in addition to the four seats from Firetown (that always almost certain go to the Individualists) - also won two of three seats from Hope. Accordingly, the individualists won two out of four reservations.

In 2637, Decker Bolton was elected the first president of the Individualists in Hope.

In 2638 he ran as the leading candidate for Mayor of Hope against the then incumbent Mayor Ronda Rugenberg (Communards). Decker Bolton won the election with 70 percent of the vote. The great success of his campaign was based, according to Weekly Gazette analysts, on the fact that most of the voters on Hope's reservation have an agricultural background and Decker Bolton is “one of them.” Especially since Decker Bolton's campaign focused on the Individualists' claim that once the Individualists took power, every farmer would get back his land that he had lost under the peace treaty.

Political focus

Decker Bolton's political program was strongly influenced by the experience that he and many other settlers had to return their 65 acres of land to the Natives (or if it was within the boundaries of one of the four reservations, to the community) after the war ended.

For Decker Bolton, like most members of the Individualists, sees defeat in the Great War primarily as the Anti War Movement's betrayal of human society. He considers it unjust that farmers like him even had to give up their landed property as a result.

Decker Bolton advocates for a free market economy as well as a renegotiation of the peace treaty with the Native Tribes. Decker Bolton rejects the economic form of Communardism.

As mayor of Hope, his political activities are focused on obtaining the best possible terms for Hope in the distribution of resources in GAIA's Annual Plan.
