Look and Feel
The air hums with sanders and chisel strikes. Sawdust motes swirl in shafts of yellow-tinted lamp light. Rich wood stacked in neat piles fill the scent. Legal Interactions:
Place a Standard Order: Submit a requisition for bulk items—flooring boards, framing timbers, or basic furniture — and receive a shipment receipt.
Inspect Wood Samples: Visit the buffer yard or gallery to examine grain quality and select planks for a bespoke project.
Pick Up Finished Goods: Coordinate with clerks to collect crate-packed components for on-site construction.
Apply for Carpentry Apprenticeship: Petition Jaque Hussaini to train as a journeyman carpenter under his master artisans
Illegal Interactions:
Smuggle Rare Veneers: Slip out boards of forbidden or endangered hardwood before they’re logged for legal sale.
Bribe for Expedited Service: Pay off a clerk to leapfrog your order ahead of others during peak demand.
Plant Defect Reports: Forge a quality-control flag on a rival’s shipment to force them into costly rework.
Tamper with Bots: Reprogram a Maintenance Bot to misroute or damage batches of competitor’s planks.
Front-Load Payment: Provide counterfeit credits to secure delivery of more materials than one has account balance for.
Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
Hussaini Carpentry offers a stage for intrigue and craftsmanship-based quests:
The Missing Logs: A critical shipment of seasoned lumber inexplicably vanishes on its short journey from the Fogwood Sawmill to the adjacent Hussaini Carpentry Inc. Since the carpentry is literally next door, there’s no clear route for the logs to disappear—and yet the delivery yard stands empty. Director Hanata Ito, baffled and furious at both the financial loss and the breach of his facility’s security, hires the PCs to unravel the mystery. Can the PCs recover the logs, unmask the saboteurs, and restore Fogwood’s reputation— or will the forest’s shadowy thieves strike again?
