Background
Vaclav Bermuda was a petty thief and dropout until the Last Frontier crash (Day Zero). Released from its prison module in 2626, he leveraged salvaged ship parts — legitimately purchased from the Free State’s recycling depot — to found Bermuda Inc. His upcycling venture into flasks, jerrycans, mugs and glassware flourished under his ruthless drive and cunning deals with Mistspring Water Inc. and Space Drinks. Inc.
Nationalized by the Federal Confederation after the Great War in 2631 as part of Peace Treaty‑mandated Communardist reforms, Bermuda Inc.’s manufactory was shuttered. Its unique molds and production methods were absorbed into the the_Federal_Pottery in Hope, while other private plants were reorganized under supervision of the Federal Allotment Agency.
Vaclav fled the Confederation’s constraints and became an Outlaw operating from the Ralar Region on the Dark Side, leading daring ambushes and evading federal forces. Infamous for his rise and fall, Vaclav became a folk legend — he’s the subject of tavern songs and campfire tales celebrating daring raids and mocking federal authority.

Motivations and Goals
Beta Age Motivations:
He sought redemption — and profit — by turning junk into high‑margin goods. Building Bermuda Inc. was his way to rewrite his reputation from convict to industrialist.
Gamma Age Motivations:
He now fights the system that absorbed his life’s work. By ambushing Federal convoys and corporations, he asserts frontier autonomy.
Legacy
Vaclav Bermuda’s transformation from petty criminal to pioneering upcycler — and then to notorious Outlaw —has made him a folk‑hero among frontier rebels. Songs and rumors of his daring raids circulate in every tavern along the Trade Route.
Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
Vaclav can serve as:
- Convoy Challenger: PCs might be hired to defend a Federal Courier convoy against Vaclav’s ambush or to assist his raiders in a daring heist.
- Salvage Showdown: Stage a combat amid the ruins of his old manufactory—Vaclav uses debris and salvage machinery to his advantage.
- Double‑Deal Negotiator: The party could broker a temporary truce or cut a deal, playing corporate factions against these frontier rebels.
