FISHERMEN’S QUARTER – DARON CREST’S DOCKHOUSE
Overview
- Location: Industrial Ring, Arla Town
- Address: NW Industrial Ring Road 4
- Surroundings: Located in Arla Town's “Fishermen's Quarter”, adjacent to the banks of Lake Arla and nearby the Funkenberg Fishfactory.
Daron Crest, a young fisherman in his late twenties, balanced fishing with ferrying passengers upriver. His skiff was among the fastest in Arla Town, often hired for urgent transport. His fish catch was routed entirely through the Arla Town Market and bulk sales to the Funkenberg Fishfactory. He never sold directly to customers.
The dockhouse was destroyed during the Great War, when the Alliance of Native Tribes raided and burned down Arla Town as a whole.

Look and Feel
Crest’s dockhouse smelled of tar and wet wood rather than fish. In the perpetual twilight of the Habitual Belt, faint lanternlight glimmered on the oar racks and benches, while the surface of the river outside gleamed like dark glass. The chatter of travelers filled the space, but the twilight cast everything in a subdued, dreamlike tone — business conducted in half-light, never in full day.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
Crest’s ferry services made him a connector — between Arla and upriver settlements. PCs can encounter him as a fixer or discover smugglers exploiting his cargo runs disguised as fish deliveries.
Adventure Hook Example
- The Vanished Cargo – A crate shipped via Crest never reaches the Funkenberg Fishfactory. PCs must determine if it was stolen en route, swapped at the dock, or hidden deliberately.
