JACK DOLANY

Race and Faction

Background

Jack Dolany was a renowned huntsman turned artisan. After the crash‐landing on VOI 700 D, settlers lacked reliable tools and weapons to tame the frontier. In 2626, Dolany built a modest workshop high in the Atrana foothills and single‐handedly designed, forged, and assembled the first‐generation Windstrike Rifle. His rifles — silent, precise, and deadly — quickly became prized by trappers, scouts, and frontier militias.

With the outbreak of the Great War in 2628, the Volunteer Army of Man (VAM) requisitioned his workshop. Dolany oversaw its rapid expansion into a full‐scale manufactory, adding the mass-deployable Ironstrike Slingshot to its arsenal. Despite wartime pressures, he maintained exacting standards — every weapon met his personal marksmanship test.

After the Peace Treaty of 2631 banned private arms-production, Dolany faced unbearable loss of purpose. He took his own life that year, leaving the Forge shuttered and his legacy etched in both steel and sorrow.
