G-BAR

Overview

Opened in April 2626, the G-Bar was named after its dual purpose: Gambling and Guests — in that order. Its motto, painted in bold letters on the entry door, left no room for misinterpretation:

More than a bar, the G was a place of high-stakes wagers, late-night thrill-seeking, and reputation-making — or breaking. Settlers from across the Asari Region came to test their luck at Twenty One, aim their nerves at dartboards, or bet on billiards matches upstairs.

The G-Bar was run by Larry Ohasha, a towering, imposing figure whose name alone discouraged trouble. Larry’s physical presence, rumored melee skills, and murky connections made him the G’s only necessary form of security — even the Guarding Troopers gave him a wide berth, though they patrolled the building regularly.

After the formation of the Federal Confederation, gambling was banned under the laws of Communardism, viewed as an antisocial vice incompatible with the new order. Larry refused to comply. On the night of the ban’s enforcement, Larry Ohasha detonated a DIY bomb inside the G-Bar — killing himself and reducing the place to rubble. The settlers who knew him called it his final bet against a world he no longer wanted to play in.

Architectural Significance

Dark wooden walls, dim lighting, and permanent smoke haze gave the interior its characteristic edge. Tables were scratched and marked from years of games, fights, and celebrations.

Look and Feel

The G-Bar was loud, smoky, and buzzing with tension. The air smelled of sweat, alcohol, and nervous energy. Laughter and curses rang out between shots, bets, and suspicious glares. There were no windows — just red bulbs, clinking glasses, and whispered deals in dark corners.

The sound of cards slapping, darts striking, and balls breaking created a background rhythm as familiar as breathing. Everyone was a regular, or about to become one. Just don't win too much, or lose too loud.
