(FEDERAL) COPPER PLANT
Overview
The Federal Copper Plant is the principal exohuman smelting, refining, and fabrication facility on VOI 700 D, supplying elemental copper, alloys, and industrial fittings across the Federal Confederation. Founded in the Beta Age as a private enterprise named Firetown Copper Plant Inc., in 2631 it was nationalized under Communardism at the beginning of the Gamma Age. At the same time, the Firetown Tool & Machine Works was merged into the plant, consolidating Firetown’s metallurgical capacity into a single Federal hub managed by the Federal Allotment Agency.
Consolidations (Gamma Age): The former Forge Quarter (predecessors: Vasquez Forge, Bernado Metalworks, Santoro Forge, Ortega Smithy) and the Firetown Tool & Machine Works Inc. (founded by Carlo “Copper Carlo” Ariti) were merged into the plant as a Forge & Fabrication Wing. Decorative/luxury commissions were discontinued; output is quota-driven (heavy fittings, wagon parts, mining spares, cookware, tools, hoof/veyra shoes) per GAIA’s Annual Plan.
