 ===== Background =====
-Iona Lynge first made her living in Hope’s agricultural industry but soon realized her true calling lay in the brutal spectacle of the Old Netter’s Rest central Brawl Ring. There, she amassed an unprecedented 158 consecutive victories — earning both prize wealth and a fearsome reputation.
+Iona Lynge grew up aboard the Last Frontier where, as a child, she towered over her peers — taller and broader than most, especially the girls. Cruel teasing and physical bullying from other children marked her early years, until she discovered that her very size and strength were basically her greatest assets …
-Despite her harsh appearance, she has a gentle side: she rescued an injured [[flutterwing|Flutterwing]] after a brawl in Hope, nursed it back to health, and nicknamed it “Bert the Bird.” Bert perches on her shoulder or nestles in her pocket, a constant companion.
