HUSSAINI CARPENTRY PLANT

Overview

Founded in November 2626 by master sawmill operator Jaque Hussaini, Hussaini Carpentry Inc. transformed raw timber from Fogwood Sawmill Inc. into finished goods—furniture, framing beams, and bespoke woodwork — for Morningstar and other settlements of the Free State of Settlers. Encouraged and partially funded by his former boss Hanata Ito (who retains a 49 percent share), Jaque built a thriving workshop that bridged bulk milling and frontier construction trades.

After the Peace Treaty and the creation of the Federal Confederation in 2632, Hussaini Carpentry was incorporated into the Federal Carpentry-network but continued operating its plant under the supervision of the Federal Allotment Agency.

Architectural Significance

  • Construction Materials: Heavy-timber framing, quarried stone plinth, and insulated plank siding
  • Floors: Two (Production Hall + Gallery Loft)
  • Design Purpose: Streamlined carpentry workflow — direct log delivery from the mill, ample bench space, and inventory storage
  • Roof Fixtures: Fixed short-wave antenna, connected to the exohumans Shortwave Radio Network.
  • Loading Canopy: Extended over Hoo‐draw ramps to shelter finished goods during all-weather dispatch

Building Structure

Ground Floor – Workshop & Gallery

  • Log Reception Bay: Shared conveyor connection to Fogwood Sawmill’s outfeed; manual off-load by Labor Bots
  • Primary Workbenches (12): Each outfitted with vise clamps, radial saws, and carving stations for furniture and trim
  • Dry-Store Chamber: Climate-controlled vault for partially cured planks awaiting finishing
  • Finished Goods Gallery: Display racks for ready items—tables, doors, window frames—open to local buyers
  • Ground-Floor Restrooms: Two unisex stalls with AuroraSan fixtures

Second Floor – Offices & Design Loft

  • Director’s Office: Jaque Hussaini’s desk, design scrolls, ledger books, and a short-wave desk transceiver
  • Shareholder Corner: Small meeting table and chairs
  • Design Loft: Sketch tables, wood samples, and prototype models for custom commissions
  • Staff Restroom & Break Nook: One unisex stall with AuroraSan fixtures and kettle station for workers

Exterior Grounds

Look and Feel

The air hums with sanders and chisel strikes. Sawdust motes swirl in shafts of yellow-tinted lamp light. Rich wood grains—walnut, cedar, oak—stacked in neat piles fill the scent. Apprentices and Labor Bots shuttle boards between benches and finishers. Upstairs, Jaque reviews blueprints by flickering holo-lights while clerks call out order numbers below.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters

Hussaini Carpentry offers a stage for intrigue and craftsmanship-based quests:

Blueprint Heist: NPCs hire PCs to recover stolen designs before they’re sold off-world.

Bot Uprising: A malfunctioning Maintenance Bot goes rogue, endangering the workshop and forcing a mechanical showdown.

Monopoly Maneuvers: Rival interests pressure Jaque and Hanata to break their partnership—PCs must mediate or choose sides.
