Surroundings: Located at the edge of the Arla Town dock district, with direct access to the lake and adjacent to the Smokehouses and Net Racks.

The Funkenberg Fish Factory was a prefab central fish processing facility established during the Beta Age on VOI 700 D. It opened its operations on October 1st, 2626, as part of the Free State of Settlers’ economic expansion in the Asari Region. Founded by Esrah Funkenberg, the factory served as the logistical and industrial backbone of Arla Town, processing the rich aquatic resources of Lake Arla.

The facility operated for only three years before it was destroyed by the Trando Tribe during the Great War in September 2629. Its ruins remain as a symbol of the short-lived and contentious ExoHuman presence in Trando territory.

Roles and Responsibilities

With a workforce of 81 employees, the Funkenberg Fish Factory operated as one of the largest employers in Arla Town.

Dock Coordinators (4 Employees): Managed boat schedules, incoming hauls, and coordinated lake operations.
Processing Workers (42 Employees): Cleaned, gutted, filleted, and packed fish.
Smoking Technicians (10 Employees): Operated and maintained the wood-burning smokehouses.
Storage Technicians (6 Employees): Managed cold storage inventory and preservation systems.

Shift Work

The factory operated on two staggered shifts to manage the continuous inflow of fish throughout the active harvesting cycle, timed to cooler phases of the lake’s convection rhythm.

Morning Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Workers rotated weekly between shifts, with processing and packaging operating continuously six days a week.

Security Measures

Fencing: A low steel perimeter fence surrounded the building.
Night Watch Roster: One dedicated guard ensured safety during off-hours.
Emergency Bell System: A manually operated bell near the main entrance was used to raise alarms.

Destruction During the Great War

In September 2629, the Trando Tribe conducted a coordinated attack against Arla Town, targeting key infrastructure deemed to violate tribal territory. The Funkenberg Fish Factory was among the first buildings destroyed. The wooden structures and prefab metal frames burned quickly, leaving only skeletal remnants. It was never rebuilt.
