ZHANG "VENOM" LANGLEY
Zhang “Venom” Langley (*2599 aboard the Last Frontier) is the Associate responsible for the gang’s drug production, trafficking, and distribution within the Jane Mendoza Gang. He earned the nickname “Venom” for his expertise in synthesizing dangerous narcotics and managing the drug network across the Habitual Belt and the Dark Side of VOI 700 D.
Biography
Zhang Langley was born into an intercultural family aboard the Last Frontier, with ancestors from both Chinese and Canadian backgrounds. His parents, medical researchers, introduced him to chemistry.
After the Great War Zhang Langley initially operated independently as a competitor to the Jane Mendoza Gang. In 2632, Zhang who officially worked as a agricultural engineer at the Federal Food Plant, started a hidden drug lab in the Hope Region, using a network of high school students as distributors. His business was small but profitable, until Jane Mendoza discovered his operation in 2635. Instead of killing him, Jane recognized Zhang's potential and hired him to expand her drug empire. Zhang took over the gang’s drug operations, streamlining production and slashing costs, making the gang’s drug business more efficient and profitable.
Personality
Zhang is a cold and calculating figure. Unlike some members of the gang, he is motivated purely by profit and control over the drug trade rather than any anarchistic or political ideals. Zhang's intelligence and meticulousness have made his operations the most profitable within the gang. His reserved and detached nature contrasts sharply with Jane Mendoza’s more volatile personality.
Physical Appearance
Zhang Langley stands at 1.75 meters with a lean physique and sharp features. His hands are scarred from chemical burns due to years spent synthesizing narcotics in hidden labs. He wears the infrared tattoo of the gang on his right forearm and has a deep, calculating gaze.
Role in the Jane Mendoza Gang
Zhang runs the Drug Operations for the gang, overseeing a network of hidden labs and distributors. His influence has grown due to the significant wealth his operations generate, but he prefers to remain in the background, focused on expanding his empire. Zhang’s success is built on a well-guarded supply chain, with key hubs located on the Dark Side.
