ZANIX PEPPER
Overview
Zanix Pepper is a fiery red spice plant native to the humid lowlands of the Asari Region. Its elongated pods balance sweetness with sharp heat, making it a cornerstone of both tribal and ExoHuman cuisine.
Called *“Zan’ith”* by the Native Tribes, the peppers were symbols of passion and endurance. ExoHumans embraced them in hot sauces, stews, and curries during the Beta Age.

Native Tribes used Zanix peppers in warrior stews before battle, believing the heat sharpened senses and fortified courage. They were also used as offerings to fire spirits.
ExoHuman Use in the Beta Age
Settlers at Arla Town dried Zanix pods into spice powders, while cooks in Hope fermented them into sauces. They became essential for flavoring preserved fish, Moka stews, and communal curries.
Zanix Pepper in the Gamma Age
Under Communardism, Zanix peppers were cultivated in limited plots under the Federal Food Plant. Their spice became rarer in Federal Canteens, sometimes smuggled or bartered in black markets.
