Background
Vincent Montoya was born aboard the Last Frontier in 2595 alongside his twin brother, Leonardo Montoya. The two were inseparable from birth, developing a unique bond that defined Vincent's entire life. When the Last Frontier crash-landed on VOI 700 D, Vincent barely survived—but Leonardo did not. The loss of his twin shattered him, leaving a wound that never fully healed.
Despite his grief, Vincent carried on, settling in New Kourou during the Beta Age, where he found work as a Technician for the New Kourou Robotics Syndicate — a company specializing in the maintenance, repair, and rental of Service Bots that had survived from the Last Frontier. The company leased bots to settlers and businesses through a subscription model, and Vincent excelled at keeping these machines operational.
However, in 2628, everything changed. While working on a malfunctioning Butler Bot, Vincent became convinced that his brother’s soul had taken residence inside it. The bot’s glitches, responses, and unexpected familiarity led him to see Leonardo in the machine — whether this was reality or the fractured mind of a grieving man, no one could say. Unable to part with the bot, Vincent deliberately falsified maintenance reports to avoid returning it to its subscriber.
For seven months, Vincent stalled, making up excuses for delays and fabricating new malfunctions. But eventually, his superior in the workshop became suspicious and demanded an inspection of the bot. Fearing that he would lose Leonardo again, Vincent made a fateful decision.
By sheer luck — or fate—the Great War erupted that very week, plunging New Kourou into chaos and confusion. Seizing the opportunity, Vincent stole the Butler Bot and vanished, disappearing into the unrest of the war’s first days.
During the war, Vincent and his Service Bot “Brother” became survivalists and thieves, operating in the Hope Region. At first, they raided abandoned farms, scavenging whatever food and supplies they could find. But as the war intensified and the settlers evacuated the rural regions, Vincent movedto the Dark Side, shifting his focus to raiding Free State Courier Riders.
When the war ended and the Federal Confederation was established, Vincent never returned to civilization. Instead, he stayed in the Ralar Region, carving out a life as a Loner. Today, he and his Service Bot “Brother” continue their raids, targeting Trade Route shipments and isolated convoys. However, maintaining the bot is an endless struggle—Service Bots require constant energy, and exchange batteries are difficult to find. Vincent is always hunting for fresh power supplies, relying on black market dealers and scavenging operations to keep Leonardo operational.
Personality
- Traits: Delusional, obsessive, calculating
- Behavior: Vincent is withdrawn and fiercely protective of his “brother”, speaking to the Service Bot as if it were Leonardo himself. He has an unshakable belief that Leonardo’s soul truly lives in the machine, and he will attack anyone who threatens to separate them.
- Values: Above all else, Vincent values keeping Leonardo “alive”. His survival and his raids are secondary—everything he does is to find energy sources for his Service Bot Brother.
Physical Attributes
- Height: 1.84 meters
- Build: Thin and wiry, accustomed to stealth over brute force
- Appearance: Vincent wears a typical Loner outfit, consisting of patched-together garments reinforced with salvaged armor plates. His boots are reinforced with steel tips, ideal for rough terrain.Leonardo, the Service Bot, also wears a Loner-style outfit, crudely modified to fit his robotic frame. The Butler Bot’s original plating is visible in places, though much of it has been painted black to blend in with the Dark Side. The bot’s glowing yellow optics flicker unnervingly, and its movements are almost too human—hesitations, shifts, glances—uncanny echoes of a lost twin.

Motivations and Goals
Vincent’s primary motivation is to keep his brother “alive” — even if that brother is now a Service Bot. He sees Leonardo not as a machine but as his twin reincarnated, and everything he does is driven by the need to protect, sustain, and supply his robotic sibling. As Service Bots are prohibited in the Gamma Age due to the energy constraints of the Peace Treaty with the Alliance of Native Tribes, Vincent blames the system for trying to “take his brother away” and sabotaging his future.
Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
Vincent Montoya’s combat strategy revolves around ambush tactics and mobility, using his ranged weapons and Leonardo’s fire support to strike fast and disappear.
- Stealth Raids: Vincent prefers ranged engagements, using his Trando Firebow for high-damage explosive strikes and the Windstrike Rifle (via Leonardo) for precision sniping.
- Survivalist Tactics: If overwhelmed, Vincent retreats into the Dark of the Ralar Region, using his Ironstrike Slingshot for rapid suppressive fire while escaping.
- Resource Management: Due to Leonardo’s constant need for energy, Vincent may seek out the players—either to trade, steal, or raid them for power supplies.
