FORSTER, THABO
Thabo “Tony” Forster (*2576 on the space ship Last Frontier) is an ExoHuman of the so called fourth generation and a politician from Firetown. He is one of the founders of the political party of the Individualist and is the Mayor of Firetown since 2636.
During the Great War, Tabo Forster was a General of the Guarding Trooper-Unit in the Volunteer Army of Man.
Political career
After the surrender of the Volunteer Army of Man brought about by the Anti War Movement, the Guarding Trooper unit, for which Tabo was responsible, was disbanded. Thabo, who had already served on the Spaceship Last Frontier as a Guarding Trooper, was out of a job as a result. Moreover, he was an open opponent of the surrender as well as the resulting peace treaty. For from his perspective, the ExoHumans were undefeated in the field and would not have lost the war with the Natives.
In order to make his opinion heard and, if necessary, to exert political influence on the future direction of the Federal Confederation, which was founded by referendum in 2631, Thabo “Tony” Forster was one of the founding members of the Party of Individualists in 2631.
A year later, in 2632, Thabo “Tony” Forster also served directly as the Individualists' top candidate in the election for the first Federal Council. Here he ran against Aisha Patel of the Communards party, whose party won 11 of the 15 seats. Thabo Forster and his fellow candidates easily won all four seats for Firetown, but failed to win in any of the other three reservations.
Two years later, in 2634, he faced Aisha Patel again. In that election, Thabo won all four seats for Firetown, plus one seat from Morningstar. Nevertheless, he was again soundly defeated by Aisha Patel, who won a total of 10 seats.
After this new defeat, Thabo decided not to run again for the Federal Council. Instead he decided to focusing on the local level in Firetown.
In 2636, Thabo was elected Mayor of Firetown.
Political focus
Thabo “Tony” Forster is a typical representative of the party of Individualists: he is in favor of a free market economy and against the restrictions on human growth laid down in the peace treaty. Moreover, he wants to go back to the monetary system.
Thabo firmly believes that the individual desire for improvement leads to greater prosperity for all. He sees the Native Tribes primarily as a primitive civilization that would benefit from human technological capabilities if they submitted to human leadership.
Public opinion
Thabo is considered the primary stakeholder for the Dark Side and Firetown. However, there are rumors that he is involved in illegal business with Jane Mendoza's gang and has created corrupt structures as mayor of Firetown that encourage the black market. The rumors have also given Thabo the nickname “Godfather of Firetown”.
Nickname "Tony"
The nickname “Tony” holds more significance for Thabo Forster than merely being an alias or an informal moniker. It serves as a tribute to a fallen comrade and friend, Tony Giannini. Both served together in the Guarding Trooper Unit of the Volunteer Army of Man during the Great War. On January 17, 2630, during a special operation, Thabo found himself in dire straits. In a courageous act of self-sacrifice, Tony Giannini saved Thabo's life at the cost of his own.
This pivotal moment had a profound impact on Thabo and led to his adopting the nickname “Tony” as an eternal memorial to his brave comrade. It's not just a personal remembrance but also an expression of the values and convictions for which Tony Giannini gave his life. These ideals of freedom and individualism continue to guide Thabo Forster in his political career as one of the founders of the Party of Individualists and in his opposition to the Communards and their policies.
