ODO
Overview
The Odo is a massive herd grazer native to the Tijonara Steppe in the Asari Region of the Eastern Equatorial Section of the Habitual Belt on VOI 700 D.
Odos roam in herds along the grasslands of the Tijonara River, known for their endurance and for their unique electric defense system. Their ability to generate electrical discharges makes them extremely difficult prey for natural predators like the Arr or the Virrana.
During the Beta Age, Exohuman settlers hunted Odos extensively for meat, hide, and electroplax tissue, causing a 30% decline in their population within just two years. This created conflict with the Senti Tribe, who relied on Odos for survival. Following the Peace Treaty after the Great War, hunting Odos was prohibited for Exohumans in the Gamma Age, allowing their numbers to recover under tribal protection.

Senti Tribe and the Odo
The Senti Tribe has always relied on the Odo, shaping their nomadic lifestyle around the herds.
Cultural Beliefs:
- Sacred Symbol: Seen as a gift of endurance and harmony from the steppes.
- Ritual Use: Electroplax organs and broken horn fragments incorporated into ceremonial gear.
- Rare Domestication: A few elite riders once attempted to tame Odos, but their electric discharges made them unpredictable mounts.
Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
- Environmental Hazard: Herd waves moving across the battlefield can separate or crush characters.
- Electric Defense: Adds surprise danger in what looks like a grazer encounter.
- Tribal Quest Hook: Senti may hire players to protect Odo herds from poachers or exohuman incursions.
- Loot Value: Electroplax tissue is rare and sought after in black markets.
