NIKITA SMIRNOW
Race and Faction
- Species: ExoHuman
- Born: 2598 aboard the Last Frontier (38 years during “A Dark Conspiracy”)
- Affiliation: Loner
Background
Nikita Smirnow was born aboard the Last Frontier to a Russian-Ukrainian family.
During the Beta Age, Nikita was a Free State Courier Rider, part of a loose network of freelance couriers vital to connecting exohuman settlements. He served as a messenger for the Volunteer Army of Man during the Great War, delivering critical information and supplies across dangerous territories. Nikita was known for his skillful riding and ability to navigate treacherous landscapes.
However, after the Peace Treaty was signed and the Federal Confederation was established, Nikita’s fortunes changed. Accused of losing cargo under suspicious circumstances—while claiming he had been robbed—GAIA refused to assign him to the Federal Courier Service. Instead, he was reassigned to the Federal Pottery in Morningstar, a job he saw as an insult to his skills and ambitions. Feeling betrayed and constrained, Nikita chose to break free from society altogether.
Since 2633, Nikita has lived as a Loner, surviving on the Dark Side through scavenging, theft, and occasional contracts with outlaw factions. His past as a courier and messenger has equipped him with unmatched knowledge of VOI 700 D's terrains and Trade Routes, making him a formidable and elusive presence in the region.
Personality
- Traits: Independent, resourceful, territorial
- Behavior: Nikita is calculating and distrustful, rarely speaking unless necessary. His life on the fringes has made him wary of strangers, but he respects those who show strength and cunning. Despite his solitary nature, Nikita has a dry sense of humor and occasionally reveals a softer side when discussing his beloved Hoos.
- Values: Above all, Nikita values freedom and autonomy. He despises authority and refuses to pledge allegiance to any gang or faction, choosing instead to live by his own code of honor.
Physical Attributes

- Build: Stocky and muscular, with the strength and endurance needed for survival in the harsh conditions of the Dark Side.
- Appearance: Nikita wears a self-made suit crafted from Moar fur, complete with a hood made from the head of the beast he defeated. His Federal Sheriff Trapper Cap, stolen during a raid, features a Lumilight integrated for visibility.
