MIRRORSTRIPE LOACH

Overview

The Mirrorstripe Loach is a slender, twilight-reactive fish native to the densely vegetated shallows and mid-depth zones of Lake Orlanda in the Asari Region of the Habitual Belt on VOI 700 D. It is known for its distinctive mirrored lateral stripes and skittish nature, often seen darting through tangles of submerged roots and aquatic foliage.

The Orlanda Tribe refers to the loach as “Shiiv'Na”, or “Whispering Flash,” and considers it a messenger of balance and patience due to its elusive nature and rhythmic movements.

Special Features:

  • Mirror Stripes: Reflect ambient light and confuse predators by creating the illusion of movement in multiple directions
  • Undulating Motion: Smooth, flowing swimming style helps it maneuver through dense aquatic plants
  • Vibration Sensitivity: Can detect subtle changes in water movement, allowing for rapid escape responses

Game Mechanics

  • Armor Class (AC): 13 (due to evasive motion and disorienting reflection)

  • Flash Response: Gains +2 to Dexterity saving throws in low-light conditions or near reflective surfaces
