The first Federal News Lounge (FNL) of New Kourou was opened in December 2634 alongside the launch of the Weekly Gazette. Operated by the Federal News Agency, it provides communal access to news and political debate within the largest settlement of the Federal Confederation.
Built under the Independent Press Act of 2634, this FNL became a prototype for Habitual Belt lounges. Its high seating capacity reflects the scale of New Kourou as the Confederation’s capital.
Located in the perpetual twilight of the Habitual Belt, the lounge feels like a civic forum: a soft, steady glow filters through skylights onto readers gathered around the large tables. The rustle of pages and murmurs of debate dominate the air, but most visitors remain focused on their papers, respecting the communal rules.
