FEDERAL ALLOTMENT CENTER

Federal Allottment Center (FAC) are distribution centers operated by the Federal Allotment Agency where Federal Confederate citizens can exchange Allotment Cards for goods. There are nine FACs in the exohuman community: four in New Kourou, three in Firetown, one in Hope and one in Morningstar.

Each Allotment Center is designed to serve up to 4,000 inhabitants (except of the Allotment Center in Firetown that serves 5.000 inhabitants). To avoid queues, each citizen has a fixed day of the week as well as a fixed time when they are allowed to visit the Allotment Center once a week.

History

The first Federal Allottment Center was opened in New Kourou on February 28 2633 by the Communard government under Supreme Councilor Aisha Patel. Prior to that, the group had decided to phase out the current money system and to introduce a central allotment system.

FACs in Firetown, Hope, and Morningstar followed on January 1 2634.

Building architecture

Federal Allotment Centers are designed to reflect their local environment and the sustainable ethos of the Federal Confederation. While the center in New Kourou is constructed from innovative mycelium blocks, which allow for unique shapes like the leaf-shaped roof symbolizing protection and sustenance, centers in other settlements utilize locally sourced, sustainable materials:

Vertical Gardens

In all Federal Allotment Centers of the Habitual Belt, vertical gardens adorn the facades, providing abundant fruits and vegetables. These gardens not only enhance the visual appeal of the buildings but also supply supplementary harvests to the community, showcasing the Confederation’s commitment to sustainability and resourcefulness.
