Thomas Hartmann was born aboard the spaceship Last Frontier in 2590, into a family of artisans and craftsmen. Known for his unwavering sense of justice and practical demeanor, Thomas stood out early as a natural leader. At 18, he joined the Guarding Troopers, where he developed expertise in security operations and gained a reputation for his calm under pressure.
After the Last Frontier crash-landed on VOI 700-D in 2625, Thomas transitioned into civilian life with a vision of providing stability during a time of uncertainty. He founded a private security company specializing in safeguarding critical infrastructure, such as the construction site of Firetown's Geothermal Power Plant. His work earned the respect of both settlers and Native Tribes, as he collaborated with tribal leaders to develop effective strategies for protecting farms from predator attacks.
However, the outbreak of the Great War in 2628 changed everything. Thomas, a staunch advocate for peace, refused to support the Volunteer Army of Man or align his company with war efforts. Instead, he became an active member of the Anti-War Movement, using his expertise to assist in operations like the Sabotage of the Quantum Fusion Batteries Charging Infrastructure on April 8, 2631, a key moment in the conflict’s eventual resolution.
Following the war and the establishment of the Federal Confederation in 2631, Thomas was offered widespread support from Communard Party leaders to run for Federal Sheriff. Despite this backing, he declined, preferring to serve in a more practical capacity rather than enter the political arena.
In 2632, GAIA assigned Thomas as a Deputy of the Federal Sheriff. Stationed along the southeastern section of the Trade Route, he continues to draw on his deep understanding of the Dark Side's harsh environment to protect caravans and maintain order.
