THE SYMPHONY OF SOCIETY (MURAL)

Overview

The Symphony of Society is a striking mural located on the exterior wall of the Auditorium Maximum at the Danah-Wanah University in New Kourou. Situated along North-East Enlightenment Lane 1 in the East Educational Ring, this expansive artwork vividly depicts the collective effort required to sustain the Federal Confederation. Through the metaphor of an orchestral performance, the mural underscores the indispensable contributions of all individuals to the success of society.

Design and Imagery

The mural uses a rich, symbolic visual language to convey its message:

  • Central Conductor: At the heart of the composition is a conductor, orchestrating the efforts of the community.
  • Human and Native Figures: Surrounding the conductor is an ensemble of individuals representing various professions and walks of life, including farmers, scientists, artists, teachers, doctors, engineers, children, and elders. Each figure holds either a musical instrument or a symbol of their societal contribution.
  • Heart-Shaped Ensemble: The figures are arranged to form the shape of a heart, symbolizing the unity and love essential for a thriving community.

The mural also prominently features Native figures, shown holding traditional musical instruments, medicinal plants, spiritual symbols, and tools. Their inclusion emphasizes their vital role in the harmony and sustainability of the Federal Confederation.
