REEDSTINGER

Overview

The Reedstinger, known as “Vela-Korr” by the Orlanda Tribe, is a large, slow-flying insect that resembles a wasp and is found throughout the nesting thickets of the Orlanda Marshes. Territorial and easily agitated, these insects deliver extremely painful stings that can incapacitate even experienced marsh-dwellers.

Despite their menace, the Orlanda respect Reedstingers for their pollination role and symbolic importance in tribal omens. Entire nests are avoided, and tribal myths suggest that the stinger holds ancestral memories.
