THE MOTRUZ
Overview
The Motruz is a colossal deep-sea predator that lurks in the Dark Sea Region on the Dark Side of VOI 700 D. As the largest known fish on the planet, the Motruz dominates the abyssal waters, growing up to 15 meters in length and weighing as much as 18 tons.
Lacking eyesight, the Motruz has evolved echolocation and electroreception to navigate the eternal darkness of its environment. Using its powerful electroplax organ, it can emit stunning electrical discharges, temporarily paralyzing prey and fending off threats. With its massive, serrated teeth and surprising speed, the Motruz is an efficient ambush predator, capable of attacking both deep-sea creatures and surface-dwelling organisms.
Physique and Appearance
- Size: Up to 15 meters in length
- Weight: Up to 18 tons
- Body Shape: Torpedo-like, built for bursts of speed
- Skin: Dark-grey, smooth and hydrodynamic
- Speed: Up to 40 km/h
Special Features:
- Echolocation and Electroreception instead of Eyesight: Blind, relies on echolocation and electroreception
- Electroplax Organ: The Motruz can generate powerful electric shocks, capable of stunning prey or defending against attackers.
- Serrated Teeth: Rows of razor-sharp fangs, including two prominent canines used for gripping large prey.
- Surprising Speed: Despite its bulk, the Motruz can burst forward at high velocity, allowing it to ambush prey from the darkness.
Physique and Appearance
The Motruz has no eyesight. Instead, it uses its brilliant hearing and ultrasonic sounds to orient itself.
The Motruz comes to a remarkable length of up to 15 meters, which makes it the largest fish on the planet VOI 700 D. Its weight is up to 18 tons. Its most dangerous hunting tool is its sharp set of teeth with two pointed canines. A special feature of the Motruz is its so-called electroplax organ, which enables the predator to generate electric fields for hunting or defense. Using the powerful electrical discharge, the Motruz can paralyze its enemies or prey to gain an advantage in combat or hunting.
Motruz have darkgrey skin. When threatened or hunting, they can reach speeds of around 40 km/h - despite their size.
Reproduction and life
The reproduction of the Motruz is special: because the predator is a so-called simultaneous hermaphrodite. This means that it has both male and female sex organs and can thus fertilize itself.
After successful fertilization, the eggs develop inside the body of the Motruz. Since the Motruz is ovoviviparous, the eggs hatch inside its body, where its offspring grow until birth. The development process usually takes about 9 to 12 months.
A typical litter size is between 2 and 4 cubs, although larger litters are possible. The young are about 1.5 to 2 meters long at birth and are relatively independent, although they may still be accompanied by their producer and parent during the first few months of life.
After the first year of life, the young separate from their parent and begin their own journey.
From about 10 to 15 years of age, the young become sexually mature and can reproduce on their own.
Motruz have a life expectancy of 200-250 years.
They feed on both micro-organisms and larger prey fish. In addition, the predator is also reported to attack creatures on the water surface as well as in the shore area.
