THE MOTRUZ
Overview
The Motruz is a massive, apex predator that inhabits the Dark Sea Region on the Dark Side of VOI 700 D. Growing up to 15 meters in length and weighing as much as 18 tons, the Motruz is the largest known fish on the planet. This fearsome hunter relies on echolocation and electric fields rather than sight to navigate the cold, abyssal waters of the Dark Sea.
Highly adapted to extreme darkness, the Motruz dominates its environment, using its electroplax organ to generate powerful electrical discharges for hunting and self-defense. With its razor-sharp teeth and surprising agility, it preys on both deep-sea creatures and even surface-dwelling organisms, making it a deadly force in the depths of VOI 700 D.
Physique and Appearance
The Motruz has no eyesight. Instead, it uses its brilliant hearing and ultrasonic sounds to orient itself.
The Motruz comes to a remarkable length of up to 15 meters, which makes it the largest fish on the planet VOI 700 D. Its weight is up to 18 tons. Its most dangerous hunting tool is its sharp set of teeth with two pointed canines. A special feature of the Motruz is its so-called electroplax organ, which enables the predator to generate electric fields for hunting or defense. Using the powerful electrical discharge, the Motruz can paralyze its enemies or prey to gain an advantage in combat or hunting.
Motruz have darkgrey skin. When threatened or hunting, they can reach speeds of around 40 km/h - despite their size.
Reproduction and life
The reproduction of the Motruz is special: because the predator is a so-called simultaneous hermaphrodite. This means that it has both male and female sex organs and can thus fertilize itself.
After successful fertilization, the eggs develop inside the body of the Motruz. Since the Motruz is ovoviviparous, the eggs hatch inside its body, where its offspring grow until birth. The development process usually takes about 9 to 12 months.
A typical litter size is between 2 and 4 cubs, although larger litters are possible. The young are about 1.5 to 2 meters long at birth and are relatively independent, although they may still be accompanied by their producer and parent during the first few months of life.
After the first year of life, the young separate from their parent and begin their own journey.
From about 10 to 15 years of age, the young become sexually mature and can reproduce on their own.
Motruz have a life expectancy of 200-250 years.
They feed on both micro-organisms and larger prey fish. In addition, the predator is also reported to attack creatures on the water surface as well as in the shore area.
