LUMIFISH

Overview

The Lumifish is a small, translucent fish species found in the shaded, plant-rich freshwater habitats of the Asari Region of the Habitual Belt on VOI 700 D. Most commonly seen in the quiet shallows of the Arla River, Lake Tijonara, and Tijonara River, Lumifish school beneath floating vegetation where dappled twilight filters through. Their glowing lateral markings and synchronized movement make them both a natural wonder and an important part of aquatic ecosystems.

The Honga Tribe consider the Lumifish a symbol of shared guidance and spiritual coordination, often linking their glowing pulses to ancestral rhythms.

Lumifish add environmental depth and ambient storytelling. While not threatening, they’re useful for clues, atmosphere, and tribal quests:

  • Guiding Light: Schools might illuminate a path through submerged ruins or darkened channels
  • Tribal Sign: Some tribes interpret their pulses as omens, requiring players to observe or follow them
  • Harvesting Challenge: Catching a Lumifish alive might be required for rituals or rare alchemical brews
