HOLLOWBACK SCUTTLER
Overview
The Hollowback Scuttler is a reclusive, cave-dwelling freshwater crab endemic to the deep cliffside pools of Lake Orlanda in the Asari Region of the Habitual Belt on VOI 700 D. It is rarely seen by surface dwellers and is considered one of the most mysterious aquatic invertebrates on the planet due to its isolated habitat, unusual biology, and cultural significance in Orlanda Tribe mythology.
Its name derives from the hollow, bowl-shaped indentation on its carapace, which is used for water storage and regulating body temperature during long periods of stillness in submerged cave chambers.
