3 | Transcription & Translation
The ledger is written entirely in the Blues' clipped, Franco-Shipyard dialect. If a PC speaks French, or if the party uses a translation device, they can decipher the cold, methodical accounting of J.W.'s massive fur empire.

4 | DM Notes: The Significance of the Ledger
- The Economic Engine: This ledger proves that J.W.’s fur trade is not just a cover story—it is a massive, highly lucrative economic engine. He controls a significant portion of the region's high-end fur exports, making him incredibly wealthy and explaining why local authorities in Morningstar look the other way.
- Funding the Assimilation: The ledger details exactly where that wealth goes. J.W. is not hoarding Kourou; he is using the profits from the fur trade to buy ship-grade thermal resin, high-end tools, and forged identification papers on the black market. The fur trade funds the “Assimilation Project.”
- The Contrast: While his “Blood Contracts” are hidden in a secret compartment and rely on cult-like fear, this ledger sits in an unlocked drawer. J.W. views his economic dominance as completely legitimate. He is a ruthless capitalist in the light, and a tyrannical cult leader in the dark.
- Proof of Accomplices: The initials “M.M.” provide concrete proof that Mustafa “Mu” Metzger is directly on J.W.'s payroll as an errand runner and courier, linking the town of Morningstar to the compound.
