FEDERAL ORGANIC WASTE RECYCLING PLANT OF MORNINGSTAR

Overview

The Federal Organic Waste Recycling Plant (FOWRP) of Morningstar is a standardized state-run facility operated under the Federal Allotment Agency in the Gamma Age. As Morningstar’s organics hub within the Federal Waste & Recycling System (FWRS), it converts ExoHuman and organic waste into biogas and nutrient-rich compost for local industry and forestry. Biogas supports nodes in the Industrial Ring (with priority to the Federal Wood Plant), while compost feeds reforestation belts and agricultural plots. The Funeral Home of Morningstar also consigns sanitized “memorial soil” for certification and blending.

Look and Feel

Patchwork, but disciplined. Timber beams and dressed stone anchor salvaged-alloy collars around the digesters; catwalks tread on ship-deck offcuts; flow lanes are hand-painted with FWRS bands. The air rides a warm, earthy tang from biofilters; oil lamps and Luminofera bands lay an even, low-draw glow across gauges and clipboards. Valves thunk, rakes scrape, tarps snap — exohuman + gravity mechanics over motors. Analog thermometers, manometers, float glasses, and chalked batch boards tell the story at a glance; logs live on clipboards, not screens. Orderly, repeatable, energy-aware—industrial craft built from second lives and local timber.

Services / Operations

Sorted processes and mandated destinations within the FWRS:

Stream / Process What Enters Primary Handling Outputs Mandated Destination / Use
AuroraSan Integration AuroraSan feedstock from Morningstar districts Screen contaminants; meter blend to target C:N; route to feed tanks Stable digester feed Anaerobic Digesters (on-site)
Organics Intake Kitchen scraps, market greens, food-prep waste De-bag, contaminant pick, manual size reduction Feedstock Anaerobic Digesters (on-site)
Anaerobic Digestion → Biogas Blended organics + AuroraSan feed Sealed domes; low-draw circulation; heat-recovery temperature control Raw biogas + digestate Gas Conditioning Skid (biogas); Compost Pad (digestate)
Gas Conditioning & Safety Raw biogas Knockout, sand/charcoal scrubbing, moisture traps; manifold to flare for overs Conditioned biogas On-site genset (plant electrics/heat); surplus to adjacent Morningstar industrial nodes when available
Composting & Curing Digestate + source-separated organics Windrow curing; manual turns; pathogen kill via time/temperature logs; final screening Finished compost Managed forests & agricultural zones around Morningstar via FCS
Memorial Soil Intake (Funeral Homes) Sanitized consignments from local Funeral Homes Quarantine in covered shed; batch assays; documentation; blend as required Certified memorial soil batches Reforestation belts & community memorial plantings (Morningstar) via FCS
Contaminant Handling Plastics, metals, inerts from intake/de-bag Segregate; document; spill neutralization per yard SOP Safe consignments FGCC of Morningstar
Leachate & Stormwater Control Floor wash, runoff, condensate Sumps → reed/biofilter cells; monitored discharge Treated leachate Yard reuse / compliant discharge per FWRS SOP
