NEW HOMELAND BANK
Overview
 * **Location:** Public Services Ring, New Kourou
 * **Address:** NW Public Services Ring Road 2
 * **Surroundings:** Located nearby the Headquarters of Weber Communication and Broadcasting Services

The New Homeland Bank was a privately operated financial exohuman institution serving only one branch. Unlike the Central Bank of the Free State of Settlers, which managed currency issuance and macroeconomic policy, the New Homeland Bank focused on community-level services such as:

 * Opening and managing personal accounts
 * Saving and withdrawing Kourou

While modest in size, the bank played a critical role in supporting early entrepreneurial efforts and individual financial security in the Free State of Settlers, offering settlers a place to protect their earnings and pursue economic opportunity.

The bank was officially shut down in 2631, shortly after the founding of the Federal Confederation. With the introduction of Communardism, the entire monetary system — including the Kourou — was abolished, and private financial institutions like the New Homeland Bank were declared obsolete and illegal.

Architectural Significance
 * **Construction Material:** A single repurposed cargo container from the Last Frontier, weathered and reinforced with scrap alloy panels and welded brackets.
 * **Floors:** 1
 * **Design Purpose:** Minimalist frontier banking: a secure counter window, a staff-only entry, and enough interior space for basic bookkeeping and a lockbox. Built for rapid deployment and low maintenance rather than durability or architectural presence.

Building Structure
**Container Interior (Single Room):**

 * **Counter Window:** A cut-out section in the container wall where clerks handle deposits, withdrawals, and account questions. Equipped with a sliding metal shutter for closure after hours.
 * **Clerk Station:**Simple table, lockbox, paper ledgers, and a handheld terminal for recording transactions.
 * **Safe Locker:** A reinforced metal chest bolted into the rear wall, storing physical Kourou and important documents.
 * **Staff Door (Exterior Access):** Narrow metal personnel door marked EMPLOYEES ONLY; opens directly into the container interior.
 * **Break Room:** A modest corner with a hydration unit, seating, and food rations.
 * **Staff Restroom:** Accessible only for employees – featuring the AuroraSan-System.

**Exterior Additions:**

 * **Cloth Canopy:** Provides minimal weather protection for settlers waiting at the counter.
 * **Mount Shelter:** An improvised wooden-tarp structure on the left side of the container with three water troughs for Veyras or Hoos.
Look and Feel
The New Homeland Bank felt more like a supply outpost than a financial institution. Mud splashed against the container walls, the cloth canopy flapped in humid winds, and the counter window echoed with the clink of metal Kourou pieces.

Conversations were hushed, tense, and practical. Settlers brought dreams of expeditions, debts, and risky ventures — all filtered through a single window in a rusted container. Above the structure, the Trade Guild Combat Drone hovered with a low, steady hum, reminding everyone that even a tiny bank carried big stakes.

Roles and Responsibilities
 * **Branch Manager (1):** Oversaw financial operations, investment approvals, and high-value client accounts.
 * **Clerk (1 ):** Managed account services, deposits, withdrawals, and Kourou distribution.

Non-Human Staff
 * **CleaningBot (1):** The Cleaning Bot maintained the Ground and Second Floor.

Public Access, Operating Hours and Operational Rhythm
 * **Public Access:** Open to all adult settlers with a valid citizen ID.
 * **Operating Hours:** Monday–Saturday: 08:00 – 18:00

Security Measures
 * **Reinforced Counter Window:** The transaction window was protected by a welded alloy grid to prevent forced entry or grab-and-run thefts.
 * **Staff Door Lock:** Manual lock plus a mechanical bolt inside.
 * **Emergency Siren:** Staff could trigger a loud mechanical alarm audible across the Public Services Ring. When activated, the Combat Drone automatically switched into high-alert mode.
 * **Combat Drone Patrol:** A Trade Guild Combat Drone hovered near the structure during operating hours.
 * **Regular Patrols:** Guarding Troopers included the building in their standard route — typically checking in twice per day.

Player Interaction Possibilities (Legal and Illegal)
Legal Interactions:
 * Open or manage a Kourou account
 * Apply for expedition or business investment
 * Request a certified loan or long-term deposit

Illegal Interactions:
 * Attempt to hack into account terminals
 * Forge documents to trigger a false funding approval
 * Bribe a clerk to access locked files

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
The New Homeland Bank offers high-stakes potential with subtle drama. It’s not just about heists — but about pressure, ambition, and what people will do for funding or financial freedom.

 * A player is asked to pose as an investor in a funding scam
 * A hacked Guarding Bot robs the bank
