Unknown to most of the academic world, Rosanne and Kito Jaroslav were secretly engaged. When the [[vazhak_i_and_ii|Vazhak I Expedition]] lost contact in 2628 and Jaroslav was declared missing, Rosanne was devastated — but quickly stepped up to carry on his work. She was appointed Professor of Geography shortly after and given command of the Vazhak II Expedition.
-Her expedition encountered a [[zathurr|Zathurr (Vazhak Maw)]] and suffered heavy losses, losing 16 members. Though she survived, the experience left her visibly changed—colder, more distant, and relentlessly determined to uncover the full truth of what happened to Kito and his team.
