Overview

Description and History:
The Orlanda Tribe is a resilient and adaptive community that has thrived for centuries in the swampy terrain of the Orlanda Marshes. Known for their floating homes and sustainable lifestyle, the Orlanda have mastered the art of living harmoniously within their challenging environment. Their history reflects a deep respect for the delicate balance of their ecosystem, with traditions and governance centered around maintaining this equilibrium.
Culture and Lifestyle
Life in the Orlanda Swamps is uniquely challenging. Over centuries, the Orlanda developed a way to navigate the perils of their habitat. Their homes are floating wooden huts that not only shelter them but also support their crops. To traverse the swamp's water channels, they use small paddle boats. Distinctively, the Orlanda are not strictly herbivores like many other tribes on VOI-700 D. They have a sustainable fishing ritual, performed only on special feast days in the Orlanda-calendar. This ritual is governed by the Circle of Elders, a council of five members, ensuring that fishing remains a sustainable activity for the tribe.
Leadership and Governance
The Circle of Elders stands as the guiding light for the Orlanda tribe. Comprising five esteemed members of the community, they not only set protocols for activities, such as the fishing ritual, but also act as the tribe's spiritual compass. Their decisions are pivotal in maintaining the balance between the Orlanda's way of life and the ecosystem of the swamps
