THE ORLANDA

Nestled in the Eastern Equatorial Section of the Habitual Belt of VOI-700 D are the Orlanda Marshes. This wetland, teeming with life, is also the ancestral home of the Orlanda Tribe. With their unique lifestyle that has evolved amidst the challenges of the swampy terrain, the Orlanda represent adaptability and resilience in their lifestyle.

The tribe comprises approximately 10,000 members.

Culture and Lifestyle

Life in the Orlanda Swamps is uniquely challenging. Over centuries, the Orlanda developed a way to navigate the perils of their habitat. Their homes are floating wooden huts that not only shelter them but also support their crops. To traverse the swamp's water channels, they use small paddle boats. Distinctively, the Orlanda are not strictly herbivores like many other tribes on VOI-700 D. They have a sustainable fishing ritual, performed only on full moon nights. This ritual is governed by the Circle of Elders, a council of five members, ensuring that fishing remains a sustainable activity for the tribe.

Leadership and Governance

The Circle of Elders stands as the guiding light for the Orlanda tribe. Comprising five esteemed members of the community, they not only set protocols for activities, such as the fishing ritual, but also act as the tribe's spiritual compass. Their decisions are pivotal in maintaining the balance between the Orlanda's way of life and the ecosystem of the swamps
