The Federal Gun Crossbow (FGC) represents a critical shift in Exohuman weaponry following the Peace Treaty that outlawed firearms. Developed by the Federal Weapon Manufactory, the FGC was introduced in September 2631, shortly after the founding of the Federal Confederation.

Designed as a replacement for firearms, the FGC serves as the primary ranged weapon for the Federal Sheriff and Local Sheriffs. Its creation was a response to the Peace Treaty’s strict prohibition of firearms among Exohumans. Combining compact design with high precision and lethality, the FGC became an essential tool for law enforcement officers in maintaining peace and order within the Confederation.

The FGC is highly restricted:

• Authorized Users: Only Deputies of the Federal Sheriff, Local Sheriffs, and the Sheriffs themselves are allowed to carry an FGC.
• Prohibition for Civilians: No other citizens, including Exohumans, are permitted to own or operate an FGC under the Federal Weapons Act.
• Issuance and Carrying: Each Deputy is issued an FGC as part of their standard gear. It is holstered on their enhanced belt, designed for quick access and secure storage.

While illegal for civilians, a small number of FGCs have appeared on the Black Market, sold at exorbitant prices due to their rarity and utility.
