By the time of the Last Frontier’s departure, the NEX-9 held a market share of over 40%, making it the most popular—and also the most expensive—device of its kind. While several competing manufacturers produced similar multi-functional devices, none matched the premium build quality, security features, and AI integration of the NEX-9. It was widely used by both civilians and professionals, serving as a communications hub, augmented reality interface, and personal assistant in daily life.

The NEX-9 was an evolution of its predecessors, refining augmented reality (AR), quantum computing, and AI-assisted automation into a sleek and intuitive device. Some of its key features included:
