STARRY MIRROR
- Type: (Frozen Mountain) Lake
- Location: High passes of the Bilu Oruzi Mountains, northeastern Ralar Region
Overview
Starry Mirror is a frozen lake nestled deep within the upper slopes of the Bilu Oruzi Mountains, located in the far northeast of the Ralar Region on the Dark Side of VOI 700 D. Measuring approximately 268 meters in length and 150 meters in width, the lake is entirely frozen year-round. On clear nights, its crystalline surface reflects the stars of the eternal night sky with breathtaking clarity, lending the site its name and spiritual reputation.
Long revered by the Native Tribes, Starry Mirror is considered one of the most sacred locations on the planet. The lake is the ceremonial site of the annual Lakira Shime, a deeply spiritual gathering involving all six great tribes.
Local Climatic Conditions, Geography and Landscape
Starry Mirror is encircled by steep ice cliffs and jagged peaks, with terrain shaped by intense tectonic pressure and glacial erosion. It lies at an extreme altitude, subjected to some of the harshest weather on VOI 700 D. Access is only possible during rare windows of relative calm.
Weather Patterns:
- Temperatures between -50°C and -70°C
- Frequent magnetic and electrical storms
- Sudden whiteouts and frostquakes
- Exceptional visibility of the night sky on clear nights
Local Flora
Due to its high altitude, frozen water and lack of geothermal activity, there is no documented flora at the lake itself. The surrounding cliffs and ridgelines also show no signs of vegetation.
