FEDERAL ALLOTMENT CENTER OF FIRETOWN

Overview

  • Location: Public Services Ring, Firetown
  • Address: SE Pioneer Road 2

Managed by the Federal Allotment Agency, the center provides essential goods to ExoHuman citizens in accordance with the allotment system of the Federal Confederation. Firetown's unique environmental conditions and architectural traditions distinguish this FAC from others across the Habitual Belt. In addition the FAC of Firetown is the largest of all FACS as it serves 5.000 residents (instead of the maximum of 4.000 residents per FAC in the other settlements).

Citizens are assigned specific days and times to visit weekly, ensuring efficient distribution without long queues.

History

The FAC in Firetown officially opened on January 1, 2634, as part of the second phase of the Federal Confederation’s economic reform under Supreme Councilor Aisha Patel. Following the success of the initial centers in New Kourou, the expansion into settlements like Firetown, Hope, and Morningstar marked the complete transition to the communal allotment system of Communardism.

Architectural Significance

  • Construction Material: The Firetown FAC is constructed from volcanic stone sourced from the nearby Ralar volcano. Unlike the mycelium blocks used in other centers, the volcanic stone reflects Firetown’s rugged and resourceful character, withstanding the area’s harsh conditions.

Design Features:

  • No Windows: The building’s solid volcanic walls are windowless, offering insulation and protection against extreme weather and local wildlife.
  • Geothermal Heating: The facility is heated using Firetown’s Federal Geothermal Power Plant, ensuring energy-efficient operation.
  • Lighting: The interior relies on candles and Luminofera Dualis, a unique bioluminescent plant native to VOI 700 D, providing a warm and sustainable light source.
  • Distinct Absence of Vertical Gardens: Due to Firetown’s harsh conditions, the FAC lacks the vertical gardens seen in other Allotment Centers, emphasizing practicality over symbolism.

Building Structure

Exterior:

  • Security Checkpoint: A Deputy of the Local Sheriff oversees the entry, ensuring only citizens with valid Allotment Cards can access the facility.
  • Warehouse (Non-Public): Located at the rear, the warehouse features two floors and a manually operated freight elevator for efficient goods storage and movement.
  • Staff Toilets: Both a men’s and a women’s facility are available, featuring the AuroraSan System.

Interior Layout | Ground Floor:

  • Reception and Information Desk: Citizens can obtain information about the current distribution key and ask questions about their allotment or vouchers.
  • Public Facilities: Equipped with three toilets and washbasins for public use.
  • Grocery Section: Distributes weekly food baskets based on the annual distribution key. Two counters handle food distribution, supported by designated waiting areas.
  • Furniture Section: Features a dedicated exit for easy transportation of heavy items.

Interior Layout | Second Floor:

  • Household Items Section: Provides cleaning supplies and household goods.
  • Clothing Section: Distributes the Standard Clothing Set for life in the Habitual Belt and the Dark Side.
  • Miscellaneous Goods Section: Offers specialized tools, furniture, and other items based on citizens’ distribution keys.
  • Office of the Center Manager: The administrative hub for FAC operations.
  • Staff Facilities: Includes a break room and lockers for employees.

Employees and Work Organization

The Firetown FAC is operated by a team of nine employees, with additional security and logistical support provided by federal agencies:

  • Center Manager: 1 person overseeing operations and acting as the emergency contact.
  • Center Receptionist: 1 person managing the reception and waiting area.
  • Distributors: 4 employees handling food and goods distribution.
  • Warehouse Staff: 2 employees managing storage and goods movement.
  • Utility Staff: 1 person responsible for maintenance and cleaning.

The Federal Courier Service ensures regular restocking of goods, while the Local Sheriff’s Office maintains order and compliance.

Security Measures
