GLACIOK

The Glaciok is a massive, solitary apex predator that dominates the Ralar Tundra of the Ralar Region on the Dark Side of VOI 700 D. Perfectly adapted to the extreme cold and perpetual darkness, the Glaciok relies on heat and scent detection rather than vision, making it an effective hunter in an environment where traditional eyesight is useless.

With snow-white to silver-grey fur, razor-sharp claws, and powerful limbs, the Glaciok moves with both speed and precision, ambushing prey that emits even the faintest heat signature. Its presence is a stabilizing force in the Ralar ecosystem, keeping prey populations in check.

• Shoulder Height: 1.4 meters
• Body Length: 3.5 - 4 meters
• Weight: 500 - 800 kg
• Fur Colors: Snow-white to silver-grey, blending seamlessly into icy landscapes.
• Speed: Sprint: Up to 70 km/h | Sustained Pace: 40 km/h

• Sensory Adaptations: Near blind, but possesses heat and scent detection, allowing it to track prey through darkness and obstacles.
• Horn-Like Protrusions: Bony ridges along its back provide additional defense and intimidation.
• Silent Paws: Thickly padded feet allow silent movement across ice and snow, making it a stealth-based predator.
• Enhanced Jaw Strength: A bite force strong enough to crush bone, ensuring prey is killed instantly.

• Armor Class (AC): 18 (due to resilient hide and exoskeletal structure)
• Hit Points (HP): 150
• Speed: 50 ft. (running), 30 ft. (climbing)

• Bite: +7 to hit, 2d10+5 piercing damage (inflicts bleeding on critical hits).
• Claw Swipe: +6 to hit, 1d8+4 slashing damage, can knock prey prone (DC 15 Strength saving throw).
• Ambush Strike: Gains +2 to attack rolls when attacking from stealth.

• Thermal Vision: Can detect heat sources within 60 feet, even through walls or snow-covered terrain.
• Cold Resistance: Fully adapted to sub-zero temperatures, making it immune to cold-based effects.
• Predator’s Stalk: Moves silently, gaining advantage on Stealth rolls in icy or snowy environments.

• Diet: Carnivorous, primarily feeding on large mammals and other cold-adapted creatures.
• Social Structure: Solitary, except during mating season.

• Stealth Hunting: Stalks prey for extended periods, striking at the perfect moment.
• Ambush Predator: Prefers to attack from behind or from above, using superior positioning.
• Minimal Energy Use: Moves slowly and efficiently between hunts to preserve energy in the cold environment.

• Mating Season: Occurs once per year, when individuals temporarily tolerate each other’s presence.
• Gestation Period: 8 months, resulting in a single offspring.
• Parental Care: The mother raises the young for one year, teaching survival skills before abandoning it to fend for itself.

• Maturity: Fully independent at 5 years old.
• Lifespan: 40-50 years, making it a long-lived apex predator.

The Glaciok is a nightmare predator, striking when players least expect it.

• Ambush Mechanic: Use its thermal vision to track players through walls, caves, or blizzards.
• Silent Hunter: It should attack from stealth, causing terror and paranoia in the party.
• Lair Encounters: Players who intrude into its hunting grounds might trigger a deadly boss fight.
• Cold-Adapted Horror: The environment itself should play a role—blizzards, icefalls, and deep snow should make combat more challenging.
