FEDERAL BEER

Developed immediately following the nationalization of alcohol production in 2631, Federal Beer was commissioned by the Federal Beverages Manufactory to replace the now-defunct Space Beer. When Space Drinks Inc. was shuttered under Communardism’s transition from Free Market to Federal Confederation control, the new regime sought a state-produced alternative to sustain social morale and enforce rationing. Federal Beer thus became the Gamma Age successor to the Beta Age’s flagship lager, distributed through federally controlled channels and served exclusively by venues holding Federal Allotment Card permits.

• Filtered Water – drawn from the Arla River and mineral-balanced
• Federally-Grown Barley – cultivated by the Federal Food Plant across the Hope Region, harvested under strict quotas.
• Communard Yeast Strain “FC-2631” – bred for consistent fermentation and minimal off-flavors;
• Standardized Hop Extract – processed into pellets at the Manufactory; yields uniform mild bitterness to meet rationing guidelines.

• Symbol of Unity: Federal Beer became a daily reminder of communal ideals, served at state functions and public gatherings.
• Rationing Catalyst: Its distribution under Allotment Cards exemplifies the Gamma Age’s emphasis on equitable resource sharing.
• Cultural Shift: The switch from Space Beer’s exuberant marketing to Federal Beer’s austere packaging reflects the broader transition from entrepreneurial zeal to centralized governance.

• Ration Raid: A stolen shipment of Federal Beer allotments for New Kourou is diverted to the Jane Mendoza Gang. Players must recover the goods.
