ARAWI

The Arawi, commonly known as the Sun-Finned Whale, is a massive freshwater cetacean native to Lake Arla in the Asari Region of the Eastern Equatorial Section of the Habitual Belt on planet VOI 700 D As one of the largest aquatic creatures in the region, it has evolved extraordinary adaptations to survive in the fluctuating temperatures of the lake.

The Arawi is renowned for its ability to absorb solar energy through specialized photo-thermal fins, which not only regulate its body temperature but also provide it with additional metabolic energy. These adaptations allow it to remain active even in the hottest parts of Lake Arla, where few other creatures can thrive.

The Arawi is a key apex predator of Lake Arla, feeding primarily on Arlian Sunfish, Gloom Swimmers and other schooling fish species.

• Size: Up to 14 meters in length
• Weight: 25-30 tons
• Body Shape: Streamlined, torpedo-like for efficient swimming
• Skin: Thick, heat-resistant, and covered in tiny solar-absorbing fins
• Speed: Up to 20 km/h in short bursts, typically cruising at 10 km/h

• Solar Fins: Thousands of tiny, golden-yellow fins cover its back, absorbing and storing solar energy to maintain body temperature.
• Adaptive Coloration: Appears sunny yellow near the surface but shifts to a darker bronze in deeper waters, providing camouflage.
• Powerful Tail: Its broad, muscular tail allows it to sprint away from threats or launch surprise hunting maneuvers.

• Armor Class (AC): 15 (due to thick, heat-resistant skin)
• Hit Points (HP): 250
• Speed: 20 km/h (swimming)

• Tail Slam: (Melee Attack) 2d12+6 bludgeoning damage. Can knock back creatures up to 10 meters.
• Shockwave Dive: (AoE Attack) The Arawi slams its body into the water, creating a shockwave that forces creatures in a 15-meter radius to make a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
• Solar Charge: (Passive) If exposed to direct sunlight for more than one hour, the Arawi gains +10 temporary HP.

• Solar Absorption: The Arawi's photo-thermal fins allow it to maintain metabolic activity, reducing the need for food.
• Thermotolerance: Can survive extreme lake temperatures, thriving in waters too hot for most other creatures.
• Echo Pulse: Uses low-frequency sonar pulses to communicate and detect underwater threats within a 1 km radius.

• Diet: Carnivorous, primarily preying on Arlian Sunfish and other small schooling fish.
• Social Structure: Mostly solitary, except during the mating season.
• Activity Pattern: Most active during the day, when it can absorb the most sunlight.

• Deep-Water Retreat: During the hottest parts of the day, Arawi may dive deeper into Lake Arla’s cooler zones to avoid overheating.
• Slow Metabolism: Can go for weeks without feeding by storing solar energy.
• Territorial Swims: Patrols large areas, occasionally breaching the surface to communicate through sonar calls.

The Arawi has an exceptionally long lifespan and a slow reproductive cycle, making it a rare but enduring presence in Lake Arla.

• Mating Season: Occurs every three to five years, typically during the peak of the warm season.
• Gestation Period: 18-24 months.
• Calf Size: Newborns are approximately 4 meters long and weigh around 2 tons.
• Weaning Period: Calves remain with their mothers for up to two years, learning to hunt and navigate the lake.

• Total Lifespan: 90-100 years (Estimation), making it one of the longest-living creatures in Asari.
• Mating Rituals: Males perform synchronized breaching displays to attract females.
• Nurturing Mothers: Females exhibit strong parental instincts, fiercely protecting their calves from predators like the Desert Stalker.

The Arawi is not a typical combat encounter, but its immense presence can create awe-inspiring moments for players.

• Underwater Encounters: Players may encounter a resting Arawi, requiring stealth or skill checks to avoid startling it.
• Predator Interactions: Observing an Arawi hunting Arlian Sunfish could signal an upcoming Desert Stalker attack.
• Solar Energy Research: Exohuman scientists might study the Arawi’s photo-thermal fins, leading to quest opportunities.
• Tribal Myths: Some Native Tribes may worship the Arawi, considering it a sacred guardian of the lake.
