Context and Historical Background
The Windstrike Rifle was created in the Beta Age by Forge of Atrana, a renowned manufactory near Morningstar specializing in tools and survival gear for settlers. Approximately 1,000 units were crafted, each embodying the craftsmanship and resourcefulness of Exohuman settlers.

This rifle was a game-changer for hunters of the Eastern Equatorial Section of the Habitual Belt. Its silent operation and impressive power made it ideal for stalking elusive prey like Odos and defending against predators like Moars. As a testament to its effectiveness, the Windstrike Rifle earned a legendary status among those who ventured into the wilderness.

After the outbreak of the Great War, the Windstrike Rifle transitioned from a hunting tool to a weapon of war. The Volunteer Army of Man (VAM) equipped its soldiers with the rifle, leveraging its silent operation and precision for guerrilla tactics and behind-the-lines skirmishes against the Native Tribes. Its adaptability to combat scenarios made it a valuable asset in an arsenal otherwise limited by the Peace Treaty’s prewar restrictions on advanced weaponry.

Following the war and the signing of the Peace Treaty, firearms were banned for Exohumans. Most Windstrike Rifles were confiscated and destroyed, but a few escaped this fate, becoming prized black-market artifacts, symbols of ingenuity, and grim reminders of a tumultuous past.
Materials and Crafting
Each Windstrike Rifle was a masterpiece of hybrid engineering, combining local resources with salvaged technology from the Last Frontier. Production was limited both by the Forge’s capacity and the scarcity of salvaged ship components.

 * **Stock:** Carved from Atrana Mountain hardwood, reinforced with an integrated counterweight spine for balance and stability during hunting or combat.
 * **Barrel:** Forged from ship-grade alloys recovered from the Last Frontier, with precision rifling to enhance accuracy and a wide muzzle crown that distinguished its silhouette..
 * **Air Chamber:** Constructed from high-strength composites, exposed on the rifle’s side so condensation mist vented visibly when pressurized — a hallmark of its design.
 * Ammunition: Custom-designed metal pellets, dense enough to pierce the hides of Moars and Odos, yet silent in flight.
 * **Trigger Mechanism:** Salvaged parts from the Last Frontier’s life-support systems and hydraulic regulators, explaining the rifle’s unmatched reliability and why only about 1,000 could ever be made.
 * **Hunter’s Token Slot:** A small recess carved into the stock where owners placed personal trophies (feathers, fangs, trinkets). Each rifle thus carried a story, linking weapon and hunter in both reputation and memory.

The Forge of Atrana became synonymous with quality and resilience through these rifles, and the few surviving examples in the Gamma Age are treated as both weapons and relics.
