Overview
The Twilight Perch is a bottom-dwelling predatory fish endemic to the nutrient-rich depths of the eastern Lake Arla shoreline in the Asari Region of VOI 700 D. Known for its stillness and ambush tactics, it is one of the lake’s most effective hunters under low-light conditions.

It plays an important ecological role by regulating smaller fish populations, especially species like the Gloom Swimmer.

Special Features:
 * **Camouflage Skin:** Skin pigmentation allows it to blend in perfectly with lakebed terrain.

 * **Bottom Sense:** Can detect nearby motion through vibrations in the sediment.
 *** Cold Resistance:** Naturally adapted to cooler water layers.

Behavior
 * **Diet:** Carnivorous (feeds on Gloom Swimmers, aquatic insects, small amphibians)
 * **Social Structure:** Solitary
 * **Activity Pattern:** Crepuscular (active at dawn and dusk)

Survival Strategies:
 * **Camouflaged Ambush:** Lies in wait among silt or under stone outcrops
 * **Strike-and-Wait:** Strikes, feeds, then returns to same hunting spot

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
The Twilight Perch is an excellent ambient threat in underwater exploration scenes. Use it to introduce unexpected danger, or a rare ingredient for crafting.

 * **Sudden Encounter:** A silent ambush adds tension in otherwise calm waters
 * **Hunting Clue:** Bones or disturbed sediment may indicate its territory
 * **Rare Ingredient:** Certain cultures may prize its organs or skin for light-absorbing clothing or cloaks
