* **Born:** 2588 on the spaceship Last Frontier | Deceased 2629
 * **Affiliation (Alpha & Beta Age):** Guarding Troopers

Background
Tony Bergmann was born in 2588 aboard the Last Frontier as the only child of hydroponics engineers. A quiet and observant youth, he enlisted in the ship’s internal security force and served as a dependable Guarding Trooper during his early adult years. He was known for his steady demeanor and deep sense of justice, though he kept his personal life mostly private.

After the crash landing on VOI 700 D, Tony experienced a personal rebirth: free from the rigid expectations of ship life, he publicly came out as gay, something he had long hidden aboard the Last Frontier. Settling in Firetown, he became a respected figure in the Guarding Troopers of the Free State of Settlers, specializing in wilderness defense and wildlife engagement along the edges of the Ralar Region.

In 2628, Tony was assigned to lead the Vazhak II Expedition as its Guarding Trooper Commander, following his responsibility for the investigation into the disappearance of the Vazhak I Expedition. His deep knowledge of the Dark Side and the region’s threats made him the logical—and symbolic—choice to carry the mission forward.

During the expedition’s passage through Vazhak, Tony and 15 others lost their lives in a sudden and catastrophic ambush by a Zathurr (Vazhak Maw). His body was never recovered, but his legacy lives on in Guarding Trooper memorials and oral accounts shared among Dark Side patrol units.

Personality
 * **Traits:** Loyal, patient, and quietly courageous

After coming out, he became more open, compassionate, and deeply invested in mentoring younger recruits. His presence brought calm in chaos.

Motivations and Goals
Tony never sought glory — only to serve, protect, and live authentically. His goals evolved with the ages:

 * **In the Alpha Age,** he was a dutiful soldier quietly navigating his identity in the tight confines of ship life.

 * **In the Beta Age,** he found his voice. As a openly gay trooper, he became a beacon of resilience and integrity. His appointment to lead the Vazhak II Expedition was rooted in duty and personal responsibility to uncover the fate of Vazhak I.

 * **In the Gamma Age,** Tony is remembered as one of the few who faced a Zathurr head-on. Some call him “The Quiet Wall”— a symbol of silent strength in the face of impossible odds.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
Tony Bergmann is a reliable and noble presence in any Beta Age storyline tied to survival, security, or wilderness exploration:

 * **In the Alpha Age,** Tony can serve as a watchful, stoic presence aboard the Last Frontier. His internal conflict and silent strength make him a compelling background figure or confidant to players questioning their own roles or identities.
 *
 * **In the Beta Age,** Tony can be a crucial ally, commander, or tactical advisor in any mission related to Vazhak II, survival scenarios, or Guarding Trooper dynamics. His sacrifice may become a pivotal moment in the party’s journey.
 *
 * **In the Gamma Age,** Tony’s legacy can resurface through monuments, data logs, or the recollections of survivors. Players might recover his helmet, rifle, or final transmission — a powerful narrative tool to deepen the emotional impact of the Vazhak Expeditions.

Tony is best used as a stabilizing NPC — one who brings moral clarity and strength to moments of chaos, and whose death is meant to be felt.
