NEW KOUROU QUANTUM FUSION RECALIBRATION STATION (QFRS)
Overview
 * **Location:** Industrial Ring, New Kourou
 * **Address:** SE Industrial Ring Road 1
 * **Surroundings:** Adjacent to New Kourou’s Tier 1-Energy Redistribution Node

Established in 2625, the New Kourou QFRS was the first and only Quantum Fusion Recalibration Station in the Tropical Forest Region of Asari. Built into a fortified cryo-vault salvaged from the Last Frontier, its mandate was to diagnose, stabilize, and recalibrate depleted Quantum Fusion Batteries before either:

 * A Tier‑2 trickle top‑up at the adjacent ERN.
 * New Kourou Courier Service transfer to a Tier‑1 hub in Firetown or Morningstar for full-flux ignition.

The station balanced civic needs (Service Bot upkeep, Shortwave Communication Devices, minimal lighting) with energy-export priorities — and often served as the Region’s gatekeeper for QFB dispatch.

**Oversight**

 * **Beta Age:** Operated jointly by the New Kourou Robotics Syndicate (operator), New Kourou’s Contact Person, and the Free State of Settlers (shareholders).
 * **Gamma Age:** Under the authority of the Federal Confederation's Federal Allotment Agency, which ensures fair QFB allocation across the remaining exohuman settlements.
Architectural Significance
 * **Materials:** Tritanium‑alloy plating, volcanic-stone insulation, pressure‑rated polyglass.
 * **Floors:** Dual-level energy operations core with technician corridors and monitoring decks.
 * **Façade**: Bunker-style monolithic exterior with recessed QFB intake bays.
 * **Design Intent:** Engineered for containment and precision; radiation shielding and surge dampeners embedded throughout.
Building Structure
**Ground Floor – Operations Core**

 * **QFB Intake & Scan Bay:** Tracks and logs QFB units entering the facility for diagnostics
 * **Calibration Chamber:** Shielded zone for automated regulator realignment and quantum field stabilization
 * **ERN Coupling Port:** Direct energy conduit to Tier‑2 capacitor racks
 * **Tech Corridor:** Redundant surge panels, emergency kill switches, and decontamination showers

**Second Level – Control & Monitoring Deck**

 * **NKRS Liaison Room:** Access-controlled terminal for battery allocation requests
 * **Data Archive Vault:** Secure storage of QFB histories and efficiency charts
 * **Staff Quarters:** Minimal living space for on‑call technicians and Maintenance Bots in the Beta Age

**Exterior Grounds**

 * **QFB Drop-Off Lane:** Covered platform for cart-based delivery of spent and recharged QFBs. Operated by New Kourou Courier Service, which uses covered wagons drawn by Hoos to transport battery units between settlements and distribution points.
 * **Perimeter Security:** Electrified alloy-mesh fencing surrounding all exterior operations.
 * **Guarding Bot Post:** A stationed Guarding Bot, armed with a Guarding Troopers Stun Gun and accompanied by a Combat Drone.
Look and Feel
Dim amber lights flicker across matte walls lined with caution tape and quantum leakage warnings. The air smells faintly of ozone and fusion residue. A low hum pervades the chamber as the calibration machinery operates in pulses. Technicians and Maintenance Bots move quietly in reinforced overalls, their faces lit by holographic energy readings. Every sound echoes with metallic precision. Outside, a solitary Guarding Bot watches the gate, unmoving but always scanning – like the Combat Drone above him …

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
Adventure Hook for the Beta Age
 * **Syndicate Saboteur –** A low-level technician discovers someone inside NKRS has been prioritizing Service Bots over life-support batteries. The PCs must navigate high-security QFRS protocols, extract data, and decide whether to expose the scandal or sell it to the highest bidder.

Adventure Hook for the Gamma Age
 * **Saboteur’s Shadow –** Calibration logs at the New Kourou QFRS begin showing inexplicable “field drift” that threatens to cripple the ERN’s ignition cycles. Rumor points to a mole within the Federal Allotment Agency — someone deliberately corrupting GAIA directives to starve the ERN of recalibrated QFBs. GAIA commissions the PCs to root out the saboteur …
