Context & Historical Background
When long-haul drivers of the New Kourou Courier Service or the Firetown Courier Service complained of frozen fingers and frayed nerves, Christos Demopoulos spotted a niche: “Give them something that keeps the cargo rolling and the bandits second-guessing.”

Gravity Grog was born — “Liquid Backbone for the Long Haul." Although never officially licensed under Beta-Age alcohol regulations, local Troopers quietly tolerated it as a morale booster that kept freight moving. Cart teams would down a jug at roadside way-stations, feeling heavier in the boots but louder in the voice, then rumble through the night toward Hope, Morningstar or Firetown.

Ingredients =
 * **Basalt-Roasted Atrana Barley Malt** — kilned in stone hearths near Morningstar for deep copper colour
 * **Caramel Malt Add-In** — lends dense body and faint toffee notes
 * **Arla Headwater Spring** — mineral-rich water piped from the Arla River’s mountain springs
 * **Ironroot Hops** — Hope-Region cones with earthy, lingering bitterness
 * **Gravity Syrup** — final runnings boiled to a viscous extract and re-blended to hit 8 % ABV

Extra-thick mash (1 : 2.5 grist/water) and reinforced drum fermentation stop glass tanks from bursting under high gravity.
Legacy & Impact
 * **Road-Ritual “First Pour”** — The moment a courier cart cleared a settlement’s gate, drivers uncorked their Gravity Grog, splashing a measure into battered tin jugs while their Hoos clomped toward the horizon—an amber toast to the long night miles ahead.
 * **Intimidation Ale** — Tavern owners posted “Two-pint max before dice tables” after brawls spiked on Gravity nights.
 * **Jug Culture** — Empty stoneware jugs (down-arrow stamp) became counterweights, doorstops, and improvised kettlebells in frontier gyms.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
 * **Malt for Miles** — PCs escort a wagon of fresh Gravity Grog jugs over the frost-bitten pass—bandits want the payload for warmth and barter.
 * **Slow-Footed Get-Away** — A party boosts morale with Grog, then must sprint to catch a departing courier caravan (Speed penalty in play).
