FEDERAL GARBAGE COLLECTION CENTER OF FIRETOWN
Overview
* **Location:** Industrial Ring, Firetown
* **Address:** SE Industrial Ring Road 1
* **Surroundings:** Adjacent to the Federal Organic Waste Recycling Plant of Firetown.

The Federal Garbage Collection Center (FGCC) of Firetown is a standardized state-run facility operated under the Federal Allotment Agency in the Gamma Age. As the settlement’s intake, weighing, sorting, and redistribution hub within the Federal Waste & Recycling System (FWRS), it anchors Firetown’s circular material flows.

Operating within Communardism, the FGCC prioritizes resource circularity, ultra-low energy draw, and minimal environmental impact. In the Gamma Age’s persistent material shortage, recycled feedstock from Firetown is strategic for construction, tools, textiles, and soil amendments. Sorted outputs are routed to federal processing plants via the Federal Courier Service under tasking by GAIA. No direct public drop-off; citizens use neighborhood collections and municipal routing.

Architectural Significance
* **Construction Materials:** Volcanic stone from the Ralar fields (thermal mass), interior stitched with salvaged alloy plates/fasteners; ship-deck offcuts from the Last Frontier as floor runs.
* **Floors:** 1 + enclosed mezzanine gallery.
* **Design Aesthetic:** Fortress-utility—no windows, double-door airlocks; thick stone walls and roof vaults for Dark-Side insulation; clear zone color banding.
* **Lighting (No Electric High-Bays):** Hooded oil lamps and baseboard *Luminofera dualis* runs throughout; task mirrors at stations.
* **Heating:** Provided by Firetown's Federal Geothermal Power Plant.
* **Ventilation / Odor Control (Passive):** Thermal stack chimneys and baffled wall flues; charcoal/compost biofilter beds at exhaust heads.

Look and Feel
Patchwork, but disciplined. Basalt blocks and ash-dark mortar meet salvaged alloy gussets; ship-deck offcuts line aisles; cargo-net guards edge mezzanines. A steady glow from hooded oil lamps and Luminofera bands pools along the runs; breath ghosts in the cool air as stack flues pull a slow draft. Everything runs on exohuman + gravity mechanics: roller clatter, chute scrape, hand-jack balers — no powered belts or fans. FWRS pictograms and zone bands (green = organics, blue = recyclables, red = hazmat) cut through stone gloom; clipboards hang beside GAIA readouts for analog redundancy. Orderly, repeatable, energy-aware — Dark-Side tough.

* **Gate Control (Entry & Exit):** Single guarded gatehouse operated by a Deputy of the Local Sheriff’s Office of Firetown; analog ledger stamps; seal checks on consignments.
* **Restricted Access:** Floor is supervised; HazMat and e-waste cages require yard badge plus analog key and escorted, countersigned log entry.
* **Exit Inspections:** Conducted at the gatehouse by the Deputy—tool/pocket checks post-shift; random bale core sampling and seal verification on staged pallets.
* **Analog Alert System:** Analog Siren System tied to the Local Sheriff’s Office.
* **Deputy Patrols:** Scheduled passes through the Industrial Ring; incident logbook countersigned daily.

Player Interaction Possibilities (Legal and Illegal)
**Legal interactions:**
* GAIA work assignment to a sorting line, HazMat watch, or weighbridge during a surge week.
* Run or attend a citizen workshop on proper e-waste preparation to reduce line jams.
* Transport / Deliver Garbage as Trash-Tony.

**Illegal interactions:**
* Skim precious-metal scrap from e-waste depop bins or swap bale tags.
* Forge weighbridge tickets to misroute high-value bales to a black-market yard.
* Stage a spill to access the HazMat cage during emergency confusion.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
* **Adventure Hook — Pieces in the Bale:** During off-load at the local Garbage Collection Center, a Trash-Tony bale ruptures — spilling exohuman body parts. The Federal Sheriff seals the floor and deputizes the PCs to investigate discreetly. Trace the custody chain (gate ledgers, route tickets, seal stamps), retrace the cart’s loop, and interview the paired Trash-Tonis and line crew. Unmask the killer before the next shift—or the center shuts down and the settlement’s waste loop seizes. Portable to any center: swap local names, routes, and adjacent plants.
