====== FATE SONG ======

The Fate Song is a solemn chant sung by the Hands of the [[jane_bold_gang|Jane Mendoza Gang]] during the [[jane_mendoza_gang_s_ceremonies|Vow Ceremony]] to welcome new Prospects. It marks the beginning of the Prospect’s new life within the gang, symbolizing a commitment to their newfound family and a break from their past. The song is both a rite of passage and a binding oath, reminding recruits of the gang's values of loyalty, rebirth, and shared fate.

===== Lyrics of the Fate Song =====

//Verse 1//
  * Today the past burns, we set it alight,
  * Casting off shadows to step into night.
  * Reborn in a family, steadfast and free,
  * Bound now in blood, our fates intertwine.

//Chorus//
  * From the ashes we rise, from old bonds set free,
  * Here, we stand strong, a brotherhood bound by decree.
  * Beyond the false world, a new life begins,
  * Where each face reveals the truth within.

//Verse 2//
  * Farewell to the ties that held us before,
  * We step through the gate, leaving old lives ashore.
  * In the strength of the gang, we find honor anew,
  * With Jane as our guide, loyal and true.

//Chorus//
  * From the ashes we rise, from old bonds set free,
  * Here, we stand strong, a brotherhood bound by decree.
  * Beyond the false world, a new life begins,
  * Where each face reveals the truth within.

//Verse 3//
  * Together we walk, where others may fall,
  * Bound by the vow, answering the call.
  * In darkness and fire, we make our own way,
  * Brothers and sisters, until the end of days.

//Final Chorus//
  * From the ashes we rise, from old bonds set free,
  * Here, we stand strong, a brotherhood bound by decree.
  * Beyond the false world, a new life begins,
  * Where each face reveals the truth within.

===== Significance =====

The Fate Song reinforces the gang's ideology of transformation through severance from the outside world and acceptance into an unbreakable bond with the gang. Sung during the Vow Ceremony, it serves as a powerful reminder of the gang’s values of loyalty, unity, and rebirth, binding new Prospects to their family with a sense of belonging and purpose.

The song’s verses echo the collective journey of leaving behind former lives to embrace a shared fate within the gang. By participating in this chant, new members are symbolically welcomed into the gang, embracing the family they have chosen over the lives they left behind.
