ASARI INN – NEW KOUROU
Overview
  * **Location:** Public Services Ring, New Kourou
  * **Address:** SW Public Services Ring Road 5
  * **Surroundings:** Adjacent to the Space Market

The Asari Inn – New Kourou is one of three standardized roadside lodgings operated by the Trade Guild of New Kourou. Conceived during the early Beta Age as a “pragmatic solution for travelers,” the Asari Inns prioritize affordability and function over comfort or luxury.

The franchise maintains identical Inns along the main Trade Route: one here in New Kourou, one in Hope, and one in Morningstar. Designed to cater to caravan riders, couriers, merchants, and settlers moving between the early colonies, the Inns became known for reliability and absolute minimalism.

Each Inn is operated entirely by automation — primarily Butler Bots for guest services and Cleaning Bots for sanitation. The buildings themselves are constructed from refurbished container walls and salvaged structural parts from the wreck of the Last Frontier, painted in the same orange-red palette as the Asari Carts of the New Kourou Courier Service.

After the Great War and the introduction of Communardism by the newly founded Federal Confederation in the year 2631, all Asari Inns got dismantled by the Trade Guild.

Architectural Significance
  * **Construction Material:** Repainted container walls, reinforced with structural salvage from the Last Frontier. Exterior finished in bright orange-red.
  * **Floors:** 2 (ground floor facilities + upper-level cabin corridor)
  * **Design Purpose:** Maximum function at minimum cost; standardized architecture across all three Inns along the Trade Route.

Building Structure
**Ground Floor**

  * **Reception Kiosk:** A single Butler Bot registers guests, dispenses room codes, and processes payments.
  * **Breakfast Room:**
      - A vending kiosk linked to the Frontier Quickdraw Network
      - A metal countertop with a kettle for hot water
      - Four tables crafted from repurposed ship plates
  * **Shared Bathroom Block:** Simple washroom with two shower stalls and one basin area.
  * **Rear Yard – Outhouse:**
      - AuroraSan-equipped outhouse unit for daytime and nighttime use
      - Cleaning Bot performs hourly sanitation sweeps

**Upper Floor**

  * **Cabin Corridor:**
      * 12 cabins total (eight single-bed, four double-bed)
      * Rooms sized just large enough to fit:
          - a single or double bed
          - a storage alcove for luggage
          - a coat hook and emergency lantern
      * Soundproofing is minimal; ventilation automated.

Look and Feel
Entering the Asari Inn feels more like stepping into a carefully maintained storage unit than a traditional lodge. The orange-red walls — chipped in places but freshly repainted each year — reflect the functional, no-nonsense character of the Trade Guild.

Inside, corridors smell faintly of metal polish and sterilizing agents used by the Cleaning Bots. Floors creak softly under thin plating. The breakfast room hums quietly with the standby rhythm of the vending kiosk and a kettle that’s almost always warm.

Guests rarely linger; the atmosphere is practical, brisk, and slightly impersonal — exactly what caravans and traders appreciate when stopping for a short rest.

Roles and Responsibilities
**Automated Staff Only:**

  * **Butler Bot (1):** Registers guests, issues access codes, distributes linens, handles payments.
  * **Cleaning Bot (1):** Maintain bathrooms, disinfect cabins after checkout, sanitize the AuroraSan outhouse.

Public Access, Operating Hours and Operational Rhythm
  * **Public Access:** Fully automated 24/7; guests may check in at any time via Butler Bot.
  * **Breakfast Availability:** The vending kiosk (Frontier Quickdraw Network) and hot-water kettle are available around the clock.

Operational Rhythm: Bookable Cabins
All cabins at the Asari Inn are extremely compact: container-sized rooms with minimal furnishing and no private bathroom.

Security Measures
  * **Combat Drone (Trade Guild):** One autonomous Combat Drone stationed at each Asari Inn, patrolling perimeter zones.
  * **Regular Guarding Trooper Patrols:** Troopers pass by the Inn multiple times per cycle as part of Public Services Ring security.
  * **Room Access:** Butler Bot hands out a room key to guests.

Player Interaction Possibilities (Legal / Illegal)
**Legal Interactions:**

  * Rent a cheap cabin during courier missions or trade-route travel.
  * Question travelers for rumors
  * Use the breakfast room as a discreet meetup point.

**Illegal Interactions:**

  * Hack the vending kiosk for free supplies.
  * Sneak into locked storage for abandoned luggage.
  * Avoid detection by Combat Drone for infiltration missions.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
Use the Asari Inn as a compact mystery hub:

  * **The Dead Courier in Cabin Twelve –** For half a year, Free State Courier Rider Harlan Veidt rented Cabin 12 without interruption — always discreet, always gone before dawn. When the Butler Bot later found him dead in the breakfast room beside a wrecked Trade Guild Combat Drone, suspicion spread fast across the Public Services Ring. The Guarding Troopers soon uncovered the truth: Cabin 12 wasn’t lodging but a stash point. Hidden beneath the floorboards lay seven Windstrike Rifles, all stolen from the Forge of Atrana. Before long, the Troopers announced a suspect — a Firetown local caught riding out with the rifles strapped to his Veyra. He insists he bought them. They insist he murdered Harlan. Three days later, the Office for Special Operations receives an unexpected visitor: Mara Telira, a dancer from Firetown’s Entertainment District and the suspect’s wife. She offers 1,500 Kourou — her entire savings — and one plea: “My husband’s a fool, not a killer. Find who really murdered that rider.”
